Surf spots explained in plain language

Instead of drowning in charts and numbers, SpotSense gives you clear “should I surf here?” guidance—especially if you’re just starting out.

  • Beginner-first difficulty — See which spots are safer and more forgiving for new surfers, with options to view how they feel for Intermediate and Advanced riders.
  • Real hazards — Specific notes on rocks, currents, crowds, and local etiquette so you know what you’re paddling into.
  • Level-tuned surfability — Conditions and spot traits translated into simple language for your chosen level, starting with Beginner by default.

How SpotSense works

  1. 1. Start as a Beginner — We default to Beginner so new surfers get the clearest, safest guidance first. You can switch to Intermediate or Advanced anytime.
  2. 2. Use Match or Browse — Either run the beginner-focused match flow or browse all spots directly.
  3. 3. Open full breakdowns — View detailed conditions and guidance based on the level you’re viewing as.
  4. 4. Give feedback — Help improve accuracy for future surfers by telling us what matched your experience.

This is an early MVP (and we want your help)

SpotSense is in early testing. Some spots are more polished, and level-based guidance is still evolving—especially beyond Beginner. Your feedback will directly shape how difficulty, hazards, and surfability are tuned.
